Yaounde School and Camp Project
   School bags
Through the years, Bread For Life has provided school bags and supplies to underprivileged children. Here children from Ngombo, in the Southwest Province of Cameroon, West Africa display their new school bags.

School and Youth Camp
We are confident that this structure will, from the onset, become self-supporting and would even help us to establish similar projects in other parts of the country. This is because educational facilities in Yaounde (Capital City of Cameroon, where this project is being planned) are already saturated.
The population of Cameroon is more than 50% juvenile. Unfortunately, the future of these young Cameroonians is bleak and uncertain because of illiteracy, insufficient schooling, facilities, poverty, joblessness, and delinquency. Bread For Life's efforts to provide scholarships and Christian youth programs have proven to be largely insufficient because the needs are enormous and ever increasing. Because of our desire to build in such a way that future generations will be reached and for continuity, we are presently buying land in Yaounde.
The Yaounde land would serve for the following purposes:
  1. Provide a good campus for a standard bilingual boarding school and Bible Training Center that will educate, train and prepare youth for future leadership roles.
  2. Provide good Christian education which is lacking in most of the secular and religious schools in the country.
  3. Create employment for some of the jobless Christians, trained and untrained.
  4. Serve as a retreat center, and campsite for youths, women, children and churches in the area.
"PRESCRIPTION FOR CHANGE" was the name of this conference organized by Bread For Life in Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa. Our new school building can also be used to provide such training for future leaders in every area.
Detailed Objectives :
Create a Bilingual School for boys and girls and a Bible Training Center with the following aim:
  1. Admit at least 120 students per year until there are 840 students in the whole school
  2. Provide good, affordable education and training
  3. Provide boarding facilities
  4. Provide exemplary Christian education
  5. Carry out evangelistic programs for and with the students during the school year
  6. Develop a Christian environment in the school premises
  7. Create employment facilities for many Christians
  8. Trained staff employed would include, teachers, technicians, computer technicians, brick masons, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc.
